The different associations of OFWs in Aklan, together with their families and relatives, gathered last December 27, 2018 at the Aklan Trade Hall, Capitol, Kalibo, Aklan to celebrate the Migrants Family Day 2018 Year 3.

Several lectures were conducted focusing on the health programs and services of the Department of Health (DOH) thru Mr. J-Lorenz B. Dionisio, RN of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and Ms. Aimy Joy M. Desaporado from PhilHealth Aklan to cater OFWs and their family members. A dynamic question and answer portion was also initiated after each talk to give way to the issues and concerns of the participants.

Ms. Lorna T. Cawaling, Migration and Development Focal Person from the Provincial Planning and Development Office (PPDO), acknowledged the participants’ active participation on the event. Meanwhile, Ms. Vivian Ruiz-Solano, Aklan PESO Manager, provided reminders and helpful tips to the participants especially on cautiousness during the hiring process of agencies for abroad which primarily need valid Job Orders from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA).

A raffle was also enjoyed by the participants who won special prizes from various sponsors.
