In partnership with the Provincial Governor’s Office (PGO) thru the Aklan Provincial Public Employment Service Office (PESO), PhilHealth and RD Pawnshop, Inc. as major sponsors, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) Region 6 held the OFW Family Day 2018 last Friday, November 30, 2018 at the Gov. Corazon L. Cabagnot Tourism and Training Center (GCLCTTC), Old Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan.

Around 300participants, mostly from Aklan and others coming from Tigbauan, Iloilo City OFWs,their family and relatives, gathered during the special event to have fun with the prepared activities of OWWA Region 6 as well as to enjoy each other’s company through sharing of stories, food and dancing.

RD Wilfreda L. Misterio from OWWA Region 6 acknowledged and welcomed the guests and participants during the Opening Program. Ms. Vivian Ruiz-Solano read the special message from Gov. Florencio T. Miraflores and also gave her warm greetings to everyone.

Mr. Owen S.Magalona, Chief Social Insurance Officer from PhilHealth Region 6 presented their office’s programs and services directed to OFWs. On the other hand, Ms.Jade Love M. Omapas, Overseas Worker Welfare Officer II oriented and updated the participants on OWWA’s Programs and Services.

Special prizes were also awarded to lucky winners of the raffle ranging from stuffed toys,Christmas gift packs, home appliances, gadgets and a 42-inch flat screen TV as the major prize.
